- Parking Facility- It’s available along the lake side area. Roadside parking is also allowed but it gets crowded in busy hours.
- Closing day – There is no fixed weekly closing.

What makes Jal Mahal so special? This red sandstone facade is hiding so many secrets. We are going to reveal some of them-
- Underwater World– It’s not a one storey palace floating in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. There are four more floors completely submerged under water. Yes, you read that right.
- Lime Mortar-For over 250 years, the plaster of the walls has prevented water seepage. There is a mix of Lime, sand and burnt clay along with a mix of kitchen ingredients like guggal (sticky resin), Methi powder (powdered Fenugreek), and jaggery.
- Architecture and Design– It is built in a classic Rajput style with Mughal influence. The depth of the lake is 15 ft and the palace sits on its shoreline. There is a beautiful garden with four Tibaris, designed in a Bengal roof style. Each corner has an Octagonal Chhatri which makes the palace stunning.
- Hidden Third Storey- Guess what? The third storey of the palace is invisible to the tourists from the roadside. You can’t see it from anywhere. The hidden eastern side has an extra third floor which is submerged underwater. This also makes the eastern side taller than the western side.
